located in Bessemer, Michigan that produces handmade chess boards (and
sometimes other things!) out of the finest exotic wood available
from around the world. As you might guess from the name, we
specialize in customizable chess boards and custom order boards of all
kinds.
You probably noticed that there is a good variety of high quality
wooden chess sets out there, but not very many high quality
wooden chess
boards. Most of the chess boards on the market today are bland
looking, imported, mass-produced boards made mainly with veneer. And
while those types of chess boards have their place, it did not seem
right that the discriminating chess player should have to play on
one... especially if you have purchased a high quality, finely
crafted chess set already. So this is where we come in...
offering quality chess boards made from fine woods, that can be
customized to fit your taste.
Chess Boards and Options:
Pre-made
chess boards: we offer a small inventory of
pre-made chess boards that are fully built and will ship to you
immediately. These boards are offered in our store and also
occasionally they are listed on eBay. Sometimes the boards

Fully
custom designed chess board: if you are
interested in something not listed in our store, or a
completely new design, this is the way to go. It is a
very personal process that will allow you to have a completely
original chess board. You can chose woods, decide on
your own designs, and add what ever accents you like including
hand carvings. Designs are not limited to what you find
on this site, you can use almost any design you can imagine. - go to the custom order page
Wood
There are hundreds of types of wood available and we use them all!
Some of the more popular are: Ebony, Birdseye Maple, Curly Maple,
Amboyna Burl, Maple Burl, Walnut Burl, Rosewood, Padouk, Wenge,
Spalted Maple and Purpleheart. For more information about the
